‘Luminescence’ means an emission of light without heat.
The shady forest on the cool water’s edge features a ‘Tui’ with luminous feathers looking north over the sparkling ocean from the Matapouri coast.
Having often walked the gruelling track to Cape Brett, I enjoyed painting its grandeur in the distance.
The ‘Tui’ is so prominent on our coast especially when the native flora is in full bloom.
